Ecaterina Gonta, Retiree, 89 years old
Ecaterina is a former teacher who takes care of her daughter, Ludmila, who has a childhood disability. She states the following: “Life is very hard for me at my age and in my living conditions. Since we started benefiting from services and assistance offered by NGO Neemia it’s like a new sun ray of light and warmth came into our lives. The assistance that we have received in the past three years: hot meals three times per week, washing of clothes, various small donations of LED light bulbs, handles for agricultural tools, food packages, and coal meant a very much myself and my daughter. It’s a special joy for me to know that there are other people who think about me and care about my needs. Every time when representatives of NGO Neemia come into my house with children and young people form the community center it brings a smile to my face and a hope for tomorrow. Thank you for the bottom of my heart to everybody who has been contributing to make it possible for the help and hope to arrive into my home”.
Victor Zama, Director NGO Neemia, Adminstrator of Community Center
We feel special joy and satisfaction to see that after our hard work and collaboration with our partners and colleagues, the Community Center “Wings of Hope” in Cobani is fulfilling its vision set at the begging of its opening. We wanted the center to be a welcoming place for children, young people, and adults where they could come to learn, build relationships, and spend productive time together. A few months ago, when the center was full of children and young people, my wife Lilia, said “I think you are fulfilled and satisfied seeing this place full of life”. It is our pleasure to offer various social services and educational programs and activities directing at enriching the lives of many children, young people, and adults. We are thankful for the many opportunities that we have to work here in the village to serve our neighbors. Many thanks to Wings of Hope International for their financial support that is making all this impactful work possible.
Eva, 8 years old, 2nd grade
Eva is a member of our Children’s afterschool program at the community center together with other 20 children. A few weeks ago she had a cold and wasn’t able to come to the center for more than a week. When she felt better and was able to attend the program she came and embraced Victor and said: “I missed the Center so much and I am so glad to be back.” Eva likes to come and do all the activities we have for the children at the center.
Mariana, 38 years old, NGO Neemia Employee, Teacher and Social Worker
My employment at NGO Neemia has offered me the possibility to learn and perform many things that I haven’t known or done in the past. Working with elderly and families at risk has offered me the possibility to learn how to be of assistance to those in need. I am glad that I am able to be of service to those in need.
Nicolae Albu, Cobani School Principal
We are very thankful that our former student, Alec who is the president of Wings of Hope International visits us every year and every year Wings of Hope is able to help our school. If we were to walk through the school, starting with the gym and ending with the cafeteria, we will find practically in every room there is something from Wings of Hope International. In the past few years, Wings of Hope has helped us bring running water to the school cafeteria, build a storage facility in order to store many of the fruits, vegetables, and other packaged goods used in the preparation of students’ food. They have also helped us with the purchase of desks and chairs for classroom and furniture for the dining room. We wish you all the best in your future activities and we hope you will continue to assist our students in need.
Livia Melnic, Adminsitrator of Healthcare Center Cobani
On behalf of about 5000 patients from five communities who benefit from the services of Cobani Health Center, I would like to thank Wings of Hope International for many contributions that have improved the services offered to the patients. Starting with 2010 Wings of Hope has made a significant impact on the functioning of our center. They have donated funds to purchase various high performance medical equipment, for diagnosing and treating patients, for the lab to perform high quality tests. In addition to the donations for the purchase of equipment, Wings of Hope donated funds to furnish the day treatment room. We were able to purchase four beds and other furniture for this room. Also, they contributed for the purchase of furniture to store patients’ records and for additional repairs of the rooms. Thank you for your generosity.
