2017-2023

WHI continued to work with the administration of the health center in Cobani to assist them with improvement of the infrastructure for the delivery of health care to about 5000 people in five villages. Here are some of the purchases we completed during this period:

• Adjustable medical exam tables (4 units); stainless steel tables for medical instruments (4 units); metal cabinet for storage of medications and instruments (1 unit); tables with drawers for medical records (4 units).
• Orthopedic mattresses (6 units) for long-term patients and a stainless steel table for the surgery room for the county hospital in Glodeni.
• One coagula meter analyzer and the necessary ingredients to process the tests.
• During the COVID-19 pandemic, WHI purchased the following:
  • Mercury-free medical thermometers (24 units); infrared thermometers (2 units); pulse oximeters (2 units), face shields (20 units); medical protective suits (100 Units); medical face masks, N1 (500 Units)
• Two medical exam tables, one sterilization cabinet, one magneto therapy device, one pulse oximeter, one reflectometer, and one set of small surgical instruments.
• Hematological analyzer for the health center in Cobani.
• An electrocardiogram machine for the health center in Cobani.

2016

WHI purchased a centrifuge for testing of blood work in the lab at the health center in Cobani.  This piece of equipment will enable the staff at the health center to complete procedures that they couldn’t have done in the past.

2015

This year the administrator of the health center in Cobani notified us that there was a possibility that the authorities will be closing the health center in Cobani because the building didn’t meet the requirements in order to be operational. In order to continue operations, the building needed to have capital repairs. The administration of the center found a grant for the majority or expenses but the conditions of the grant required to have some additional partners for the repairs. WHI has agreed to contribute towards the repairs and now the health center is operational. The employees of the center and the patients are very thankful for the donations that have been contributed by WHI.  

2014

A few years ago the administrator of the health center in Cobani has asked us with the assistance to purchase a tonometer for measuring the eye pressure. There is a large number of people in the village of Cobani who have been experiencing problems with their eyesight and in fact some individuals lost their eyesight completely. In asking questions of the doctors at the health center, we found out that many eyesight problems could be prevented and treated if the detection is done on time. The doctors told us that having a tonometer would help them detect the symptoms of potential problems and then send them to an eye doctor for further investigation. We purchased the tonometer and the doctors are very thankful to have another piece of equipment to improve their services and aid the population in five villages.  

2013

For the previous five years, WHI purchased a variety of medical equipment that has helped the health center to improve the delivery of quantity and quality of care. During the summer of 2013, WHI purchased new furntiure and modern medical equipment for the laboratory. Thanks to the implementation of this project, the patients from five villages will receive all laboratory tests at the health center. This way the patients won’t have to travel to other healtcare establishments in other towns for laboratory work as they had to do it in the past.

As a results of purchasing new equipment and manking other improvements, Cobani Health Center was evaluated and accredited by the National Center for Evaluation and Accrediation in Healthcare to provide healthcare services and received the accrediation certificate.  The equipment and furniture in the laboratory that was purchased with funds from Wings of Hope International, was certified by the Ministry of Health and meets all required standards.  The patients are extremely pleased with the new lab furniture and equipment.  

2012

Thank you Letter from Administrator of Cobani Health Center

On behalf of the Cobani Health Center (which services the following five villages: Cobani, Camenca, Butesti, Brinzeni and Molesti, with a combined population of over 5000 people), I would like express my sincerest gratitude for your generous donation which has contributed to improving the healthcare services offered to the residents of these five villages. 

            Thanks to the willingness of the President, Mr. Alec Zama, and to the board of the directors of Wings of Hope International, we were able to implement two projects in 2012: 

replacing the windows and replacing the doors at Cobani Health Center. After the implementation of these two projects, we will be able to conserve the heat in the building during the winter months and therefore, the expenses for the electricity will go down. This will eliminate the need to use additional heaters during the winter months. 

            Also, I would like to thank you on behalf of Glodeni County Board of Supervisors for your previous donations to Cobani Health Center during the following years:

2012 – implementation of the above mentioned projects in the amount of 30,000 Moldovan Lei (about $2,500)

2010 – donation of medical equipment and furniture in the amount of 20,000 Moldovan Lei (about $1,700)

2009 – donation of medical equipment for physio-therapeutical procedures in the amount of 21,000 Moldovan Lei (about $1,800)

            Additionally, I would like to thank you on behalf of the employees of Cobani Health Center for the above mentioned donations. And finally, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for your generosity, honesty and good will.  We wish you much health, prosperity and much success.  

2010

WHI purchased four beds and mattresses for the outpatient treatment room. In addition, we purchased new equipment and furniture for the newborn room and furniture to store medical records and equipment. 

2009

WHI purchased four pieces of equipment that are used for physiotherapy procedures. This equipment is used free of charge by the residents of Cobani and the four surrounding villages. In the past, some patients had to travel to the county center for many treatments, which can now be completed in Cobani. WHI also purchased four comforters and bedding sets for the beds reserved for outpatient care.
